I chose to stay with the small block in order to utilise the existing parts as is...otherwise it would have been almost a complete rebuild for everything 8) Had the car on the dyno - still makes 160KW/298NM on the wheels with the 1800 setup....BUT now that power is delivered at 0.8bar boost...

Ha ha yes but it was the RPM that made it give up the ghost not the boost - was only running 0.9bar

What boost you running bud - with all the work you have done on the engine I was surprised to see only 280KW at the wheels so I am assuming you are running fairly low boost I am guessing around 1 to 1.2 bar?...
