New member confused, ALDL. OBD1, OBD2 ? - Daewoo Matiz

Post by HangOver »

Hi All
New to the forum had great assistance with similar forums with a couple of other vehicles so I thought you all may be able to help?

I live in Australia and the wife has a Daewoo Matiz, (2000).
I would like to be able to read any fault codes the car may have at the moment.

Anyone in Australia been successful in reading codes from a Matiz?
What did you use?

I tried crossing the two pins, (I think it was A&B?) but got no flashing light, anyhow..........

It has a 12-pin ALDL type connection like this one:

(its not mine though)

I know all US vehicles after, (i think) 96' are OBD2, UK is around 2000, (I think) but not sure about the Australian models?

I am be confused of car obd code, so I need some advice. If I buy car obd diagnostic, should I buy a car obd scanner?
What to choose, obd1 or obd2 scanner?
That will depend of car make/model/year/location. I would suggest you posting again when you've buy the car.

If you bridge it, it should flash maybe try bridging the opposite end

Hi Benzino,
I found in a Romanian manual that contacts to bridge on ALDL connector for the Matiz are A & C instead of A & B like for Lanos.
However, without warranty.

As well! Between two posts

To stay somewhat on topic (avoiding moderation ;) ) I wondered if carehuni would not be a new kind of bot: Vague question. One post. Almost three years after the Hangover's post :o
