Re: Nubaroo Corsa B Project REVISED
Looking good... I still can't believe you are having such luck with those F18 gearboxes handling that amount of torque. My D20's must have been made with glass gears lol

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video
Quite an interesting setup, why did you decide to put surge ports on your compressor ? Benzino is right, it was mostly for the sound improvement (I like loud turbos). But I was also hearing some occasional surge at low RPMs and considering there are no compressor maps for the CT12 this was a nice f...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video
Yes I would be interested to see that when you get a chance. As for the conversation, I would like it to remain here - but you can make a breakout thread with a copy of all the relevant posts if you want, as it might make it easier for people to read / search. Perhaps all the posts from the "dyno re...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video
If Im not mistaken, the ratio at idle should be around 2:1 with the WG closed and BOV open and move to 1:1 or lower with WG open and BOV closed at WOT. Just something further to consider.... you won't be able to measure any tangible pre-turbine exhaust pressure at idle. If you have backpressure at ...

Re: Bent valves, all of them... 1999 Nubira CDX 2.0L
Wow that sucks... I found the timing belt system/tensioner to be a little strange on these motors, but eventually got it right in my garage. And as Daniel mentioned, he should have turned the motor over by hand several times to verify everything.

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video
so the reading was taken before the turbine? wouldn't that affect the reading? I thought you were meant to take it from after the turbo The type of 'back-pressure' talked about through most forum does refer to post turbine resriction. Like a dam in a river it restricts the free flowing ability of t...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video
Sounds awesome. Love the extra spool noise. That seems like a shit load of exhaust backpressure though... where was the reading taken from? thanks man! The reading was taken right at the turbine inlet (made a tiny bung right in the collector). The pressure does get excessive at my high boost settin...

Dyno Results
Finally got this little badass setup tuned, and I'm quite happy with the results. http://s18.postimage.org/wcorssq8l/IMG_4915.jpg Despite the turbo being undersized for 2.0L we managed to squeeze out: 214 whp / 207 lb ft . http://s18.postimage.org/lbtmnrxzp/214whp_big.png Through progressive boost t...

Fuel return completed and turbo re-mounted
Here's some pics of the fuel system setup... I have switched my 2 additional injectors over to Siemens Deka 63 lb/hr as they are supposed to have one of the widest spray patterns which is well suited for the throttle body type injection they are being used for. We also tried to run as much hardline ...

External gate and ported cover complete!
Here we have the new external gate welded on along with a slip fit recirculated dump tube... Also if you look closely, you will see that we ported the compressor cover for anti surge and increased turbo spooling sound ;) http://s13.postimage.org/ujtte9sqr/IMG_4884.jpg http://s13.postimage.org/pwj5yr...

Re: Turbo Optra - Squeezing a little more from a pea sized t
Hoping to get started on this soon.... I've got the parts that I need :D Another Used AVCR for progressive boost control ;) http://s12.postimage.org/onbzl6xd5/IMG_4822.jpg A friend hooked me up with this, after his project outgrew it lol. I must have return system to run any more than 8-10psi. Yes I...
